Do you wish to provide details of circumstances or qualifications not reflected in the application? (650 words)
My high school experience is not reflective of the traditional high school student. As I previously mentioned, I started an accelerated path to complete the majority of my ninth-grade requirements in the eighth grade. The next year, at 13 years old, I began joint enrollment courses through Valdosta State University (VSU). VSU was one of the few universities that permitted me to bypass age and high school grade restrictions set forth by Georgia House Bill 444. I continued taking online foundational courses through VSU until I chose to pursue concentration classes in computer science. Since I was limited by VSU’s online courses and restricted by many colleges’ dual enrollment eligibility criteria, I transferred to Columbus State University in the spring of my tenth-grade year. Having completed the majority of my high school requirements this fall, I met with my high school counselor in September to discuss the possibility of early graduation. In mid-November, the district office approved my request to jump from being a high school junior to a graduating senior. While my application appears incomplete without a senior year, I was advised by admissions to represent my high school experience beginning with my accelerated eighth grade. This is why I am not including any information for senior year. Even though my transcripts may appear disjointed, they reflect my passion and determination to succeed throughout my educational journey.

I peered over the board, shaking the dice in my hands and praying for anything but an 11. The dice clattered and came to a stop. 11. My sister leapt up with glee, taunting me as I grudgingly dragged my character from Atlantic Avenue to Park Place, a property practically sagging under the weight of four houses. “$1400!” she exclaimed, laughing at my paltry $370. I bit my tongue instead of hurling...

I have lost track of how many times I have rejected this essay, and, although it can be discouraging to re-draft it so many times, I don’t give up. So, I open up a new document on my computer, clear my head, and start fresh. I close my eyes and let my mind wander, stepping back out onto a familiar, windy beach. As the sky greys, clouds bring in light showers, scattering vacationers seeking she...
