Who Can Apply to Be a Mentor?

Our program is designed for university students who are eager to help high school students succeed in their college admissions journey. If you fit the following criteria, we invite you to consider becoming a mentor:

  • You're currently enrolled in a university.
  • You have insights and skills related to college admissions.
  • You're passionate about guiding high school students.
  • You're interested in earning $40-50 per hour.
"Counsia gave me the perfect opportunity to both help highschoolers with the difficulties of the college admission process but also gave me a great income to support myself in college."

How the Application Process Works

Our application process is designed to be user-friendly and efficient. Here's what you need to know about the application:

  1. Basic Information: We'll start by asking for some basic details, like your name, contact information, university, major, and any extracurricular activities you're involved in.
  2. College Essays: Share any college admission essays you've written or similar pieces that demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively. This helps us understand your writing style and communication skills.
  3. Proof of Identity: To ensure authenticity, we'll need a valid proof of identification, such as your university ID or driver's license.

How We Select Mentors

Once you submit your application, our team will review it thoroughly. We'll look at your academic achievements, your passion for mentoring, and your ability to guide high school students through the college admissions process.

If you're selected, we'll reach out to you for an interview. This is a chance for us to get to know you better and for you to ask any questions you have about the program. It's also an opportunity for you to show us how excited you are about mentoring.

Becoming a Mentor

After the selection process, if you're approved as a mentor, you'll gain access to our platform. Here, you can set your availability for tutoring sessions. High school students will then have the option to sign up for sessions based on your availability.

Remember, being a mentor means more than just helping with college applications – you have the chance to make a real impact on these students' lives and futures.

Are you ready to inspire and guide the next generation of college applicants? If so, start by filling out our application. Your knowledge could be the key to helping ambitious high school students achieve their goals.
